Meet the Band

Greg Grandillo – Vocals & Guitar

Performing with the Cleveland rock band, Tom King and the Starfires, who later became The Outsiders. (Remember the 1966 national hit, “Time Won’t Let Me”?)  After leaving the Starfires, he joined Starfires drummer Jimmy Fox to form The James Gang (prior to future Eagles member Joe Walsh joining the band). Not one to hide from the spotlight, Greg grew into his musicianship and never stopped performing, adding vocals to his repertoire.

Decades later, Greg is still singing and playing live shows as a member of his latest band, Still Standing. He and fellow “Old School” band members Jim Mass (bass and vocals), Jimmy Miragliotta (keyboards and vocals), and Tony Mazzone (drums and vocals) play cover songs ranging from rock and blues to R&B and funk, “bringin’ it every night we play!”

Greg says, “I love playing ferociously. I try my best every night, giving it everything I’ve got. Otherwise, I might just as well stay home”. I live for the moments when we’re out playing and it’s right. We call them magic nights. I’m 74 now, but I still need to let the tiger out. I feel positively 65!”

Jimmy Miragliotta – Vocals & Keyboards

Keyboard player and lead vocalist Jimmy Miragliotta has been playing music professionally for almost 60 years. His twelve years with the band Sam’Sons included 2 years in Lake Tahoe playing in clubs and casinos. He was a member of the bands Cousins / Bruno Brothers for 25 years Jimmy was honored to be able to sing the National Anthem for the Cleveland Cavaliers for 3 years as well as 2 times for the Cleveland Indians back in the 90’s. For the past 22 years he has been a vocalist with the music ministry at St. John Bosco Church. His current band “Still Standing’ represents yet another chapter in his love of playing music with so many very talented musicians.

Tony Mazzone – Drums & Vocals

Tony has been part of “Still Standing” since September 2021. Having built quite a musical résumé drumming and singing for over 5 decades, past bands include The Extremes, Wild Horses, East Wind and Backseat Romance (to name a few).

Jim Mass – Bass & Vocals

Jim’s a Cleveland area native, and continues to enjoy a diverse musical career. He started at age 11 on trumpet and lower brass, then switched to bass guitar at age 14. He started studying upright acoustic bass at age 19, and has played a wide variety of music with various groups over the years, including rock, jazz, R&B, funk, swing, classical orchestra, bluegrass, Christian, and was even a ‘permanent sub’ in a polka band back in the day! Jim is thankful to Jimmy for his invitation to join Still Standing in early 2021, and mentions that “All 4 of us really get into playing out live – big energy, big fun, 100% all in – every time!”. Jim’s also a current member of the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra and Lou Armagno and Sinatra Selects (upright bass). He’d like to take the opportunity to thank all of the wonderful musicians he’s been privileged to play with over the past 50+ years.
